The proposed Alumni Relations Cell (ARC) of CEC is happy to be seen working with great momentum, even before the official announcement! Apart from the Grand Alumni Meet [GAM ‘10] (on 14^th August, 2010), the proposed ARC is arranging another session – talks by two eminent ex-CECians – on 13^th August, 2010.

In this occasion, I, on behalf of the CEC Alumni, congratulate the team behind and the team who worked for the CEC Alumni Website whose “Meet the Alumni Programme” really worked out!

MEET THE ALUMNI

Date: 13^th of August, 2010.

INTERACTIVE SESSION

By: Ms. Gayathri Sudhakaran, Senior Manager, Portfolio Planning and Analysis at Nokia.

Time:  9:30am – 12:00pm.

Scope: Final and pre-final year students.

Description: Talk on her life in CEC and the magnitude of her work in Nokia, encouraging more students to pursue research. Then an interactive session with the students and teachers.

TECHNICAL SESSION

By: Dr. Asharaf Sainudeen, Computer Scientist with exposure in Algorithms and Software Systems related to Machine Learning and Large Scale Data Processing, currently working at IISC Bangalore.

Time: 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Scope: Second year students.

Description: Introduce a new topic and take a session on a technical basis enriching students grasp on technical basis.

Dr. Asharaf S

.

Dr. Asharaf S is a computer scientist currently working with America Online (AOL) India Private Limited, Bangalore. Prior to joining AOL, he has completed his PhD and Master of Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He completed his B.Tech (Computer Engineering) from College of Engineering, Chengannur in 1997.

.

He has authored more than 10 research publications in reputed international journals/conferences of IEEE and Elsevier Science. He is a recipient of IBM Outstanding PhD student award 2006 and his biography is published in the 2009 Edition of “Marquis Who’s Who in the World”. He is a reviewer for major international Journals/Conferences of IEEE, IAPR and Elsevier Science.

Ms. Gayathri Sudhakaran

.

Ms. Gayathri has been involved in the telecom industry for over 12 years, in multiple capacities spanning product management, marketing, portfolio investment analysis and strategy. Gayathri is currently with Nokia, and her role involves strategic planning for a device portfolio. Gayathri holds a degree in Computer engineering from College of Engineering, Chengannur (India) and also holds an MBA from the Said Business School, Oxford University, specializing in Technology Strategy.
